Fat Toni’s, Stroud’s award-winning takeaway pizzeria, is relocating to new premises in the town centre – creating more space in a better location for the popular takeaway to expand and grow.

The independent pizza takeaway company is relocating to a 1,314 sq. ft. unit near to the main entrance of The Vue Cinema at the Merrywalks Centre which is currently being rebranded as Five Valleys.

Fat Toni’s will be increasing the restaurants offer in the new location with fresh Italian bread and Pizza al Taglio Roman Style, the team will also be making fresh cakes and brownies as well as selling a range of delicious ice-cream.

The Yorkshire based retail property specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd is working on a major phased transformation of the centre. The latest phase of work will be completed in May and will create a new entrance from King Street as well as major improvements to the shop fronts.

The next phase of work will get started later in the spring and will see the development team focussing on the malls and the exterior of the multi-story car park – work to transform the interior of the car park has already been completed.

The new development is aimed at attracting new businesses to the town centre and creating a fantastic new retail environment in the town centre as well as first floor apartments and office space.

Fat Toni’s is the first local company to announce a move to the centre – the relocation will allow the company to expand and grow.

Darren Orsi, from Fat Toni’s, said: “We are delighted to be announcing this move to a new and much larger unit here in Stroud. We have a fantastic customer base here in the town and it’s great to be able to extend our offer and grow the business in this new location.”

Fat Toni’s opened in Stroud in 2012, and last year won the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards  Takeaway Of The Year Award. The team will start work on their new unit this month with plans for an opening early in the summer.

Estates Director at Dransfield Properties, James Shepherd, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Fat Toni’s to the centre, they are a great local company with some exciting plans to expand their offer here in Stroud at the new Five Valley’s Shopping Centre.”
