New business to open as part of regeneration programme in Gainsborough’s town centre

29 January 2019

A brand new nail bar has opened on Market Street in Gainsborough as part of a wider town centre regeneration scheme brought forward by Dransfield Properties and West Lindsey District Council.

Bamboo Nail Spa is now open for business at 35 Market Street which has undergone a major internal and external transformation with stunning traditional shop front and a new internal layout.

Shop front grants are still available for other premises in the town centre looking for a makeover.

The new nail bar is run by Kim Phan who is expanding her business in the town and has created three new jobs for the area.

Bamboo Nail Spa is located next to the brand new Travelodge Hotel; which opened last November and was also delivered by the unique partnership between the award winning retail developer and the local authority.

The nail bar will offer beauty services including shellac, gel polish, acrylic extensions, pedicure treatments and nail art.

Kim said: “I have been overwhelmed by the support of the local people here in Gainsborough with a very busy first few days!”

Dransfield Properties’ Estates Surveyor Alisdair Gillespie said:  “We are delighted that Kim has had a very successful start in her new premises and we wish her the very best for the future.”

“We are looking forward to making further announcements in the coming weeks about other new businesses moving in to this part of town, I’m sure everyone agrees this project is really lifting and transforming the area.”

As well as new retail space the development has also delivered three stunning new first floor apartments and the new nail bar will have an additional apartment above, in the next phase of the works.

Cllr Sheila Bibb, Chairman of the Prosperous Communities Communities said: “I am delighted to see this brand new business opening up in the town centre and I wish them every success.

“The Market Street Renewal project has helped to brighten up Market Street, restoring the shop fronts and it has led to some attractive new apartments in the town. Our shopfront scheme is still available for applications.”

The shopfront scheme is open to business in Lord Street, Market Place, Market Street, North Street and Silver Street. For more information about the funding criteria or to make an application please visit: www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/Gainsboroughshopfrontscheme/
