10 August 2017

The brand new Market Cross Butchers is now open at Selby’s Market Cross shopping centre.

The independent store opened on Wednesday 9th August offering locally sourced meats including beef, pork and lamb.

Homemade sausages, burgers and meats – all cooked in house - will also be available in the new store.

The store is a new venture for business partners Dawn Womersley, 47, and Gary Chapman, 25, from Selby.

Gary says he is delighted to be launching the new venture at Market Cross as he is a “proud Selby lad”.

Dawn, originally from Lancashire, has lived in Selby for many years and owns several catering businesses in the area.

She said: “We are delighted to be launching our new Market Cross Butchers here in Selby – we’ll be focussed on great local produce and good customer service and look forward to welcoming customers to our new store.”

Market Cross Butchers is the latest business to open in the centre, which is home to a great range of successful national and independent brands.

The store is located between Holland and Barratts and Ladbrokes at Market Cross.

Alison Hall, from the Market Cross centre management team said: “The new store looks great and we are really pleased to welcome another great local business to Market Cross and would like to wish Dawn and Gary all the very best in their new venture.”
