Low Stanners - Morpeth
Plans have been submitted for a new 50,000 sq ft foodstore development in Morpeth close to the heart of the town. The planning authority is due to discuss the scheme and two out of town supermarket developments at a meeting at Morpeth Town Hall on Monday June 14th.
The plans will transform a council depot site in Morpeth into an attractive foodstore with which has been designed to be built over two floors with close links to the existing town centre shops and services.
With a footprint of 30,000 sq ft the new store would have a basement storage area aimed at maximising the potential of the site.
As well as a new foodstore close to the town centre the development will also bring:
- More choice for shoppers in the town
- 298 short stay car parking spaces
- 167 long stay underground car parking spaces
- Strong pedestrian links to the town centre
- An attractive landscaping scheme and footpaths
