29 April 2015

East Hull's brand new £5 million retail scheme is starting to take shape and on programme for a summer 2015 opening.

The brickworks for the five retail units is set to be completed by 7th May with the roof works set to commence straight afterwards.

The development will transform a 1.8 acre site on the corner of Mount Pleasant and Holderness Road in east Hull

Barnsley based retail property specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd, along with the main contractors Geo Houlton and Sons are on schedule to complete the main building work in June ready for the internal fit out works to start.

Once completed the scheme will be anchored by a 25,000 sq. ft. B&M store with a garden centre and four further new retail units are also being built, which will include a Subway store.

Two empty shops fronting Holderness Road are being refurbished and brought back into use as part of the overall project. The scheme will create around 50 new jobs in the area.

As well as bringing an attractive new retail development to this part of Holderness Road the scheme includes a new district centre car park with around 90 parking spaces.

Further announcements are due to be made over the next few weeks regarding other companies who are set to join the official line up.
