Costa Coffee opens new coffee shop at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park

Costa – the nation’s favourite coffee shop brand - has today opened the doors to the company’s latest new branch at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park in Stoke on Trent.

The new Costa is in a 1,432 sq. ft. unit fronting Scotia Road at Alexandra Park which has been transformed into a contemporary new coffee shop.

And the Costa Tunstall team welcomed their first customers through the doors this morning.

Around 15 part and full time jobs have been created at the new coffee shop. The company joins a retail line up which also includes Boots, Iceland and Home Bargains as well as a DW Sports fitness centre.

The store is run by one of Costa’s franchise partners, Fieldrose Ltd. A spokesman for the company said: “We’re delighted to be opening our new store in Tunstall, bringing our delicious food and drink range to coffee lovers in the area.

"As with all of our new store openings we will do all that we can to integrate ourselves with the local community, getting involved with events; providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising.”

Alexandra Park is owned and managed by South Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties Ltd. The company completed the final phase of building work at the centre 12 months ago bringing 25,400 sq. ft. of new retail space and more high street names to the centre.

As well as the new Costa the relocation of the Cult Creatives Hair Salon, next to DW Sports, has also created an opportunity for Specsavers to move to Alexandra Park later in the spring.

Development surveyor at Dransfield Properties, James Shepherd, said: “We have worked with Costa in other parts of the country and we’re delighted the company has opened it latest new coffee shop at Alexandra Park.

"We’ve seen the centre really develop and grow since the final phase of construction work was completed 12 months ago."
