New Costa to open at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park

Costa has announced it’s to open a brand new coffee shop at Tunstall’s Alexandra Park.

The nation’s favourite coffee shop brand is taking the final unit at the centre where construction was completed earlier in the year.

The 1,432 sq. ft. unit fronts Scotia Road in a prime position at Alexandra Park and will be transformed over the next few weeks into an attractive and modern new coffee shop. The new shop joins retailers including Boots, Iceland and Home Bargains as well as a DW Sports Gym and store.

The new Costa will open on December 15th and around 15 part and full time jobs will be created – the internal fit out work on the new unit is now underway ready for the pre-Christmas opening.

The store will be run by one of Costa’s franchise partners, Fieldrose Ltd. A spokesman for the company said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our new store to Tunstall next month, bringing our delicious food and drink range to Tunstall coffee lovers.

"As with all of our new store openings we will do all that we can to integrate ourselves with the local community, getting involved with events; providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising.”

Alexandra Park is owned and managed by South Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties Ltd. The company completed the final phase of building work at the centre earlier this year bringing 25,400 sq. ft. of new retail space and more high street names to the centre.

As well as Iceland and Home Bargains this final phase of works has also seen Card Factory join the line-up. The charity Barnardos has also opened a new children’s store in a 1,280 sq. ft. unit at Alexandra Park. 

Development surveyor at Dransfield Properties, James Shepherd, said: “The centre has really grown and developed this year and we’re delighted that Costa is opening alongside our other new stores which have joined the centre in the last few months.

"Costa is a great company which we’ve worked with for many years in other parts of the country and we’re confident the company’s new coffee shop in Tunstall will be a popular addition to the centre. We look forward to the opening next month.”
