DPL Surveyors celebrate RICS success

Two members of the surveying team at a South Yorkshire based retail property firm have this month passed their Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors professional qualifications.

James Shepherd and Dave Hale work at Dransfield Properties Ltd at the company’s South Yorkshire head office  – both are now fully qualified chartered surveyors and can use the post-nominal letters MRICS.

Dave, aged 30, has achieved his qualification in planning and development whilst 31-year-old James, who heads the team managing the company’s shopping centres, has focussed on the commercial practice element of the industry.

Founded 22 years ago Dransfield Properties is now based in Penistone, near Barnsley – the company develops and manages town centre retail developments across the country.

The South Yorkshire firm has won a number of high profile industry awards including The BCSC Gold Award for the Marshall’s Yard development in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire and the UK Commercial Property Awards for the best Mixed Use Development (UK) for Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth, Northumberland.

In South Yorkshire the company completed the final phase of the Penistone town centre regeneration scheme earlier this year and has also started work during 2014 on the £42 million Fox Valley development in Stocksbridge, north Sheffield.

Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, Mark Dransfield, said: “Studying for professional qualifications on top of a demanding career in an extremely busy environment is not easy and I know that everyone here at DPL will join me in congratulating Dave and James.
