Work on the new Aldi store in Slaithwaite is progressing well and on schedule for a November opening.

The corten steel cladding is being installed and will be completed this week and the glazing will also be in place by the end of the week.

A team is working on the drainage and car park retaining wall and the main contractors PDR are also making good progress with the work around the Masonic Lodge as well as the HGV ramp and the Mill Pond boundary wall.

The new store is located off Britannia Road in Slaithwaite and will open in November this year. As well as a new food store the development will deliver around 90 car parking spaces and up to 30 new jobs will be created in the town.

PDR Construction started work on the former Colne Mill site in March this year.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “It’s great to see the corten steel going on the building now and the whole development coming together. The internal work is also well underway and we look forward to the store opening later in the Autumn.”
