Delegates at this year’s annual BCSC Conference and Exhibition will have the chance to test out their pedalling power in a WattBike challenge being hosted by the pro-cyclist Tony Gibb.

Tony, a former world championship silver medallist will be giving a few cycling tips and encouraging visitors and exhibitors to take part in the challenge – with the chance to win a special edition cycling shirt and a training session with Tony.

The Wattbike Challenge will be at stands 118 and 117 at Olympia on September 10th – the first day of the Conference and Exhibition.

For a donation to Action Against Cancer delegates can test their strength on a state of the art WattBike and make a bid for the leader board.

The challenge has been organised by Dransfield Properties Ltd – the company organises an annual Tour of Europe cycle ride which this year heads from Trieste to Munich on September 15th.  Action Against Cancer is one of the charities being supported in this year’s ride.

Tony, who is taking part in the 2014 Tour of Europe along with 18 other riders said: “We know people are of course here to do business and network so we’ve kept the challenge to a very quick sprint and we’re hoping to be very busy on the day and see some impressive times.”

Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties Ltd, said: “Our industry has some very keen cyclists and of course some very generous fundraisers so we’re hoping that competitive spirit will help to really make a difference to Action Against Cancer.”

Action Against Cancer funds the development of cures for cancer at Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital, led by the world renowned oncologist Professor Justin Stebbings.
