Internal fit out work to start on new Slaithwaite Aldi - ready for November opening

27 August 2014

The stonework on the new Aldi store at Slaithwaite in West Yorkshire will be completed early next week ready for the food retailer to start work on the building’s internal fit out.

The Aldi fit out team will  be on site next week and the construction team will also be taking down the scaffolding and installing the glazing.

Later in the month the shop front will be put in place and work will also start on the car park.

The impressive Corten steel cladding will also be going in place later in the month on the new store, which is located off Britannia Road in Slaithwaite.

As well as a new food store the development will deliver around 90 car parking spaces and up to 30 new jobs will be created in the town.

The main contractors PDR Construction started work on the former Colne Mill site in March this year and the new store is on schedule for a November opening.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “The next few weeks will see things really coming together on site with the Corten Steel in place and the glazing also being installed.

“It’s great to see work starting on the internal works at the store as well and we look forward to the store opening later in the autumn.”
