New stores open for business at east Manchester’s Lime Square development

4 August 2014

Construction of the final phase of Openshaw’s Lime Square development is now complete – and three new retailers are already joining the line up at the busy east Manchester shopping centre.

Phones4U opened for business at the centre on the 19th July and they’re joined next week by Lemon Nails and Beauty and the fast growing TABlites e-cigarette brand also opens for business.

Phones4U has taken a 807 sq. ft. unit fronting Ashton Old Road next to the main entrance to the Morrison’s store which anchors the centre – TABlites and Lemon Nails and Beauty have also taken units in key positions at the centre and open for trade this month.

They’ll be joined over the coming weeks by the Portuguese and Mexican restaurant chain Peritos as well as The Gym Group which is currently fitting out its brand new 15,000 sq. ft. state of the art gym at the centre.

Work started on this final phase at Lime Square in November last year bringing seven new retail units to the centre which has been developed in phases over the last four years since the Morrisons store opened in November 2010. Other retailers at the centre include Poundland, B&M Stores, Greggs and Brighthouse.

The development has been brought forward by Yorkshire based retail property specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd working in partnership with Manchester City Council and New East Manchester as part of the strategic regeneration of this part of the city.
An official opening event is being organised for the autumn to celebrate this final of work being completed.

Development surveyor at Dransfield Properties, Amy Baldwin, said: “We are delighted to welcome Phones4U to Lime Square as well as two great local companies Lemon Nail and TABlites who we’re confident will be great additions to the existing stores here.

"It’s great to see the centre growing and we look forward to welcoming more new names to the centre over the next couple of months.”

TABlites are a Manchester based e-cigarette brand that not only have an online presence but can also be found at key high street locations.  The new store is next door to Lemon Nails and Beauty run by the talented Manchester nail artist Holly Nguyen.
