Savers Health and Beauty has opened its brand new store at the town’s Market Cross centre this week.

The company, which has more than 230 stores across the country has re-fitted the 2,100 sq. ft. former Fultons Foods unit and relocated to the new premises from Abbey Walks.

The move has secured jobs at the town centre branch and given the company a new central location at Market Cross where Savers has joined a host of other High Street retailers including Home Bargains, Bright House, Greggs and Boots.

Savers, which employs nine people in Selby, aims to be the most competitively priced health and beauty products and household goods retailer on the high street and prides itself on its clean, crisp store settings with friendly, well-trained employees.

James Shepherd, management surveyor at Dransfield Properties, said: “We are delighted that Savers has now opened for trade at our Market Cross development in the centre of town.

"The new store looks great and it’s fantastic news that the company has been able to secure jobs and relocate the Selby store to our centre, we wish the Savers team all the very best in their new premises.”

Fultons Foods opened at Market Cross in 2009 and took the decision not to re-new the company’s lease at the centre, creating the opportunity for Savers to open their new store.
