Shopping centre owners Dransfield Properties Ltd have announced four new independent retailers are to join the line up at the company’s award winning Sanderson Arcade development in Morpeth, Northumberland.

The centre, which opened in 2009, is anchored by Marks and Spencer’s with other high street stores including Laura Ashley, New Look and Fat Face.

A second phase was launched earlier this Spring with Monsoon and JoJo Maman Bebe among the retailers opening for trade.

As well as attracting  well known High Street names to Morpeth Dransfield Properties has also spent the last few months identifying high quality local retailers to get the tenant mix just right at their Morpeth centre.

The latest new store to open is The Corbridge Larder, the company has just launched it second store in the region at the Arcade with a new 1,820 sq ft delicatessen and coffee shop.

Jump Shoes for Kids, run by sisters Ruth Lovell and Jo Place is also taking space at the Arcade with an 890 sq ft shop opening later this summer to run alongside their popular Gosforth outlet.

The sisters launched their company five years ago after becoming frustrated with the limited range of high quality children’s shoes.

And local high quality giftware company Just 4 U is also opening its first retail outlet at The Arcade this summer.

The Newcastle based leisure operator and interior design company, Fluid Design Solutions (Fluid Group), is the fourth company to announce it is taking space at Sanderson Arcade. It’s Bar Luga Deli, opening later this year, will compliment the company’s existing Central Bean Coffee Shop at the centre.

Jo Place from Jump said: “It’s great to be working with a company that is so pro-active and has the same vision to bring something different to the High Street and shopping centre.

“Dransfield Properties understands that the approach is very different for independent retailers like Jump, opening a second store is a big step and its great to be taking that step with a supportive landlord. The Arcade has a great mix of shops are we are really excited about being a part of it.”

Retail Property Director at Dransfield Properties, Andrew Malley, said: “Morpeth is a really unique market town. With Sanderson Arcade we have sought from the outset to bring a really good mix of those high quality national retailers that people know and trust as well as unique independent traders.

“We have let nearly 7,000 sq ft of retail space to high quality independent retailers at Sanderson Arcade in the last few weeks and are delighted to be working with some fantastic local companies who will enhance the experience of shopping at Sanderson Arcade.”
