Abbey opens in Market Cross

25 October 2005

High Street bank Abbey has opened for business in Market Cross, following extensive refurbishment of a previously vacant unit.

Abbey have been operating out of a temporary building near to the Tesco store since they moved from the former Safeway building.  They are now based in unit 22 at Market Cross, opposite Legends Cafe.

The bank joins a mix of local and national stores in the centre, which is fully let for the first time in years and is fast becoming a sought after location for retailers.

The centre has undergone a number of improvements since Dransfield Properties bought the development earlier this year.  CCTV has recently been installed and improved signage and banners will be put in before Christmas.

Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties, said: “We are delighted that Abbey has moved into Market Cross as they provide a valuable contribution to the tenant mix.”

“Abbey have been in temporary accommodation for some time so we are very pleased they are taking a lease within Market Cross, which demonstrates an ongoing commitment to Selby.”
