Dransfield Properties supports annual community event

Plans are underway for the third annual Openshaw Festival which this year will take place on Saturday September 23rd from 11am – 5pm.

Organisers are planning a fantastic day of family fun showcasing local entertainment and talent as well as fun fair rides, a packed food and craft market and lots of activities throughout the whole day at Lime Square – all hosted by a Key 103 Roadshow.

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and well as the Greater Manchester Police are taking part in the event as well as other local groups including Manchester Settlement, The City Council, The Salvation Army and the Openshaw Residents Association.

The annual event is supported by the owners of Lime Square Dransfield Properties Ltd.

This year's festival will be officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr Eddy Newman and businesses across Openshaw will also be getting involved in the annual event. 

The area will be decorated with special Openshaw Festival bunting and local schools and groups are also being encouraged to get involved.

The team at Lime Square are working with Manchester City Council as well as other groups and business in east Manchester to deliver a packed programme of family fun.

Centre Manager at Lime Square Joel Plumley said: “We are putting together a fantastic day of activities and entertainment and want to make this year’s festival the best yet.

“It is always a lovely community event and a chance for our part of Manchester to celebrate all that is great about the area.

“We are taking bookings for stalls and we’re also keen to hear from any local groups or schools who would like to get involved – we’re particularly keen to have a great line up of local performers.”
